Director of Marketing Research and Analytics in New York, NY
Job Description: Establish the role, value and integrity of data at Spotlight Oral Care through the development and implementation of data systems and practices for ongoing insights generation, performance analysis and optimization. Gather, clean & provide structure to unstructured data across all marketing activities. Continuously unearth solid audience and cultural insights to fuel strategy, creative ideas, tactical execution plans, and product decisions. Define digital measurement plans, campaign goals and KPI’s with a focus on conversion and ROI. Establish benchmarks for all brand activities to allow for accurate measurement and analysis of spend. Proactively bring new market trends and strategic themes to our teams based on research. Implement new techniques for performance analysis, as well as data management best practices. Maintain a deep understanding of brand objectives and connect the dots between digital media spend to marketing outcomes. Track performances glean insights and make informed decisions about optimizations. Build strong relationships and lead communication for all analytics and research needs across all disciplines and departments to establish how analytics and insights can best be implemented for different need. Lead Research and Analytics through managing workstreams, sharing POV/best practices, and communicating directly with other discipline leads. Manage, train and mentor the junior team- teach, delegate, and empower them to succeed and deliver senior management-ready presentations. Manage research and strategy for Spotlight Oral Care through both quantitative and qualitative research methods, recommending industry leading research & insight tools to conduct research, developing ongoing surveys and activities to understand different global methods; implementing recruitment methods; and establishing a roadmap for expansion of data practices across the business.
Travel: 5% Domestic and International travel required.
Job Requirements: Master’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Marketing or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Must also possess experience with (i) digital and traditional research analytics (qualitative and quantitative research) and using data and research to fuel strategy and tell a story; (ii) interpreting consumer behavior and marketing practices across different US and EU markets; (iii) using statistics for research sampling and quantitative validation via advanced statistical analysis methods; (iv) analyzing paid and organic digital media, establishing social measurement plans, and identifying KPIs; (v) using data to predict performance and forecast models for accurate KPI setting and stock management; (vi) applying structure and rigor to unstructured data to measure the success of marketing activities; and (vii) Crimson Hexagon, Brandwatch, Mintel, MRI, Toluna, Nielsen, Statista, social platform insights or equivalent tools.
